Communicating with Clients

It is highly unlikely that you would be able to design and create a good and correct product without maintaining a line of communication open with your client(s).

You should ask your client for clarification whenever you are unsure of something – for example, choosing between to colours for a logo – and record their responses. This not only ensures you create the best product possible, but also serves to justify design decisions made.

Email is the best method for such communication, as by its nature a hard-copy can easily be stored and used as evidence. Verbal communication is also a viable option, but this requires meetings to be notarised.

Regardless of the option chosen, always act in a professional and courteous manner during such discussions.
